I'm always intensely proud of my Northern Ireland roots but tonight has been a particular high point, in a sporting sense at least.
Not only were the Norn Iron football team and the Ulster rugby team playing live on telly at the same time (surely a first), but both won (surely a last) over Slovenia (1-0) and the Neath/Swansea Ospeys (27-26) respectively.
The next step for my proud nation will now surely be to develop nuclear weapons and claim a seat on the UN Security Council.
Yes folks, America's dominance is over...
