The Whites have packed up their trunks and are ready to hit the road (is that enough metaphors for you?) in just a few minutes from now.
Destination: Chester Zoo.
It was Vanessa's idea (most of the good ones are) because it's obviously the beginning of the Bank Holiday weekend, Jamie hasn't seen many big animals "in the flesh" before and (surprise, surprise) she found a deal on t'Internet.
And there's something for all the family in this particular deal as we all get to stay overnight in a local hotel with room service, meaning Jamie gets to shuffle around the zoo for as long as he wants and his mother and I don't have to make do with fish fingers for dinner at 5pm.
I'm going to stick my neck out and predict that the elephants will be the highlight, followed by the Cabernet Sauvignon 2006. But it could be a close run thing.
