Yes folks, it's December 1st, and you can finally open a window of your advent calendar(s).
But that's not all.
Because if - like me - you don't have a life, you can also insist that the Christmas decorations go up today.
It's at times like this that having children are a distinct advantage. This is for two principal reasons:
- You can pretend you're only doing it for them;
- If this fails, you can push the issue to a house vote - in the surefire knowledge that you'll win.
