Learning from Rooney

Proudly wearing his England football shirt - ironically bought for him in Northern Ireland by his Granny White - Jamie sat down with me little more than 40 minutes ago to watch the country of his birth take on Slovenia at Wembley.

And he seemed to be enjoying what he saw.

I was too until that prince of morals Wayne Rooney, who claimed during the week that he'd never dived in his entire career, threw himself down to win a penalty for the home side.

One of the reasons I hate cheats in sport is because youngsters quickly feel the need to copy them.

I rest my case.
